Stripe x Xero
'Tap to Pay on iPhone'
Agency:
Prom Creative
Director:
Jarid Dean

Capturing sleek, global tech in a rural Aussie setting.

Working for Stripe and Xero in our latest project was a true cross-continental collaboration. Director, Jarid Dean behind the wheel.

This was a special project that started in San Francisco, evolved in New York, and came to life here in Australia, culminating in a global product film, highlighting how Xero and Stripe make it easier for small businesses to get paid with Tap to Pay on iPhone. Partnering with our friends at PROM Creative (NYC), we were tasked to line produce this ambitious campaign, with the core of the production unfolding on Australian soil.

Directed by Optika collaborator Jarid Dean, the film is grounded in the real-world story of eventing champion Christine Bates, a rural business owner and Xero customer, whose horse-riding company is now able to accept payments on the go.

Set against a cinematic countryside backdrop the film contrasts tactile rural life with sleek, intuitive technology. It’s a striking visual juxtaposition true to Jarid’s style and a powerful metaphor for innovation meeting the everyday.

With stakeholders from Stripe, Xero and Apple involved, production required care and precision, including live feeds to London and an executive presence on set in Wilberforce, NSW over the busy two-day shoot.

Once wrapped, rushes made their way safely back to New York, where PROM led post and finishing.

A true cross-continental collaboration and one we’re proud to have helped bring to life.
